Ra鑙规e is located in a cove 12 km west of the town of Kor鑥la. This small village, offering tourist accommodation in private and holiday homes, is a perfect resort for all those seeking to escape the hectic everyday life. Ra鑙规e is popular with sailors as its large breakwater makes it a sheltered and safe port in any kind of weather.
The place boasts a small pebble beach, and two more are to be found west of Ra鑙规e in the coves of Vaja and Samograd. The beaches were formed of the remains of white stone which used to be excavated and worked in nearby quarries.
One of the peculiarities of Samograd is its cave. A narrow tunnel leads into a large chamber with stalactites, stalagmites and other typical cave ornaments.
East of Ra鑙规e, on the way towards the town of Kor鑥la, a beautiful peaceful cove called Kne緀 offers tourist accommodation in comfortably furnished apartments.
Ra鑙规e is the youngest settlement on the island. As its inhabitants originally came from Makarska and Herzegovina, it is the only part of the island where the 箃okavica dialect is spoken (the rest of the island speaks the 鑑kavica dialect).
Ra筰规e, which in the past it used to have a large fleet, is also famed for its capable sailors. The large breakwater, originally built to accommodate the fleet, today serves for mooring yachts.
