Could the island of Mljet be Homer's Ogygia?

Some people say that Homer, while describing the enchanted island of Ogigia, Ulysses and the nymph Calypso, was actually referring to the island of Mljet.
True or not – this island is a real paradise for all those who enjoy intact nature and absolute tranquillity.

..The island of Mljet is one of the loveliest and most densely wooded islands in the Adriatic. A part of the island has been declared a national park, whose main attractions are two salt-water lakes-Veliko jezero and Malo jezero (great lake and small lake) surrounded by a lovely thick forest.

Enjoy a boat ride from the lakes to the islet of Melita and visit the Benedictine monastery of St. Mary dating from the 12th century.
There will be plenty of free time for sunbathing, strolling around the lakes or having a lunch in one of the charming local restaurants.

Korcula town – Moreska sword dance

This would be very interesting evening program in the Old Town of Korcula. Enjoy in performance of the famous sword dance MORESKA .

The Red and the Black Kings march their armies into a piazza clashing their sabres and fighting over a beautiful damsel in this colourful dance play.

With mush sword-flashing and prancing, the dance evokes the battle of the Moors and symbolises the eternal struggle between good and evil. This sword dance will take you back to the 15th century, to the period of continuos wars in the Mediterranean and the struggle between Cross and Crescent.

Today, Moreska is the only such dance in the Mediterranean performed in its most attractive form.

Price: City tour 19 € + Moreska 7 €

Mostar & Neretva River Delta

- full day excursion

The City where the North meets the South and the West meets the East.

This is a city of poetry, stone and narrow streets, the city where the traveller from the north feels the first breeze of the Mediterranean air, imbued with the scents of citrus and sea whereas the traveller from the south reaches the first glimpses of the continent beyond.
Visit the city sights, which include the Old Bazaar, the Turkish House and one of the many old Mosques.
After the guided tour of the town you will have some free time for a stroll among the many old craft shops.
Lunch will be served in one of the picturesque local restaurants.

BISEVO – the Blue Cave

Bisevo is a small islet in the south-east Adriatic. There are a few caves on the island, out of which Modra Spilja (the Blue Cave) is the most famous.

The side of the grotto and the sea in it have an indescrbable silvery-blue color.

This is due to the sunrays which penetrate throug a hole under the surface and reflect against the white bottom of the grotto, thus creating incredibly beatiful light effects.

The cave is accessible since 1884, and approach is possible only by boat. The coastal sea belt is rich fishing area. The island of Bisevo is famous excursion site.
